Companies running R&D, software and design projects can apply to Teknopark İzmir.

Before accepting applications from companies and entrepreneurs who want to join the zone, the Teknopark İzmir Management Company holds a preliminary meeting to learn about their projects. In these meetings, the points to consider in the application are explained. The company or entrepreneur then submits the Teknopark İzmir Application Form, together with the other requested information, to the Teknopark İzmir management.

Applications from new entrepreneurs who want to operate in the zone are pre-evaluated by the Management Company. At this stage, the applicant's qualifications and the activities they plan to carry out in the zone are reviewed for compliance with the relevant Law, Regulation and the zone's founding purposes. Applicants that pass the pre-evaluation submit their full application through the portal used by the Management Company. The Management Company forwards the application form to expert reviewers in the relevant sectors. For an entrepreneur to be accepted, the majority of the expert reviewers must give a positive opinion.

The committee is made up of experts in fields relevant to the company's area of activity.

Applications are evaluated within a maximum of thirty days from the submission of the forms.

The company headquarters does not have to be in the zone. R&D and software offices set up in the zone can also be branches.

Under the Technology Development Zones Law, income from R&D and software development activities carried out exclusively in the zone is exempt from income and corporate tax until 31.12.2028. The wages of R&D, design and support staff working in the zone are exempt from income tax within the scope of the relevant activities. In addition, deliveries and services of certain types of software produced in the zone are exempt from VAT.

For staff records created on the R&D Portal under Staff > Staff Definition Card > New, a copy of the employee's ID, a copy of their diploma and their social security employment notice must be uploaded in full to the "Upload File" field. An approved staff record alone is not enough to benefit from the incentives. Only staff actively working on projects can benefit from the exemptions provided under the relevant legislation.

For staff registered on the R&D Portal, send one passport photo and the Excel form previously sent by the Entrepreneur Relations Unit, completed, to pdks@teknoparkizmir.com.tr. The card fee is 500 TL + VAT per card. Please attach the payment receipt to the e-mail as well.

Existing companies must fill in all fields of the form under Project > Project Information Form > New and submit it for evaluation through the system with an electronic signature. The project evaluation fee is 3,750 TL + VAT. Students get a 50% discount and academic companies a 30% discount.

Project revision requests are created on the portal under Project > Project Revision > Project Revision Form > New and submitted for evaluation with an electronic signature. The revision evaluation fee for project extensions, team revisions and VAT exemption requests is 3,450 TL + VAT.

Requests are submitted for evaluation on the Portal by filling in the relevant form and signing it electronically. A separate request and payment are required for each application. The application fee is 3,450 TL + VAT.

Create a record on the portal under Project > Project Closure Form > New and submit the request with an electronic signature using the "Request Completion Certificate" button. The project completion certificate fee is 5,500 TL + VAT.
